Today the youth group met for their regular meeting. After a whole cake was consumed and lots of juice drank, we began our meeting :)
We played a game called "Who would you save?" They were divided into two groups and they had to decide out of 11 different people who they would put into a life boat if the ship was sinking. After much discussion , their choices were made. [The minister didn't make it!!!] We learned to respect each other's view points and to reach consensus. We talked about respecting other thoughts and ideas even if they are not the same as ours and not to use "put-downs"
We also played "open book, closed book" This was a riot as they had to figure out the code Cheryl and I were using to decide which way the book was passed. It took a long time to figure it out. Lots of laughter was heard!!
We made up letters to be sent to the support people in our community [ ambulance staff, O.P.P. and Mary Berglund Health Centre], as well as to be handed to our faith family on Sunday. There is a surprise inside to be followed next Wednesday..............
We delivered one of our special blankets to a baby boy in the community. We have more to deliver next week. Another busy week with a great group of kids!!
