Happy 85th Anniversary United Church!!!

Today we celebrated the 85th anniversary of the United Church. We used the original service. I used my Mother's Bible that was given to her in 1925 from the C.G.I.T.One of the congregation carried her husband's hymnal, "The Hymn Book".Some people dressed up in the "vogue" of those days.I wore a Geneva gown and hood.
Thank you to St Paul's United Church in Souris, Manitoba for sending me the original "Open the Gates" song that was sung as the Sunday School children "graduated".[ I passed through those gates many times :) ] I ,too, sang that for OUR children today as they passed through the gate.
Thank you to Dave, Frances, Liz and Val for representing the Presbyterian Moderator, Congregational Union Chairman, Methodist General Superintendent, and the Chairman of the General Council of Local Union Union Churches. Thank you to Sidney and Sage for bringing up the collection and greeting [Grandma, too] Thank you to Dave for giving the wine and Jessie for being the server.Thank you to Marion for making the "Common Bread"
We are thankful for our worship today and for all the wonderful memories shared. We wish our partners Oriole York Mills United Church and the pastoral charge of Alix -Delburne blessings on their ministries. Happy Anniversary United Church!
