Today's theme was "Treasure".
God has blessed us with all that we need, but often when we see someone else that has more, we are no longer happy with what we have.Think of what we had years ago..... do we still live the same way? What does money do for us? What does money to to us? Does it make us greedy? When we see a need, do we dig in our pockets or like the rich man, ignore the problem? Sometimes people need to be taught to be generous. .... like the "Youth in Philanthropy" project I was consultant for at The Winnipeg Foundation.Philanthropy is defined as the effort to increase the well-being of hunman kind . God wants us all to be philanthropers! How can our "treasure or wealth" become a blessing to others?
When we are rich in good works by giving to those in need, we will be storing up treasure as the foundation for our own future life. Treasure? Real life pursures intergity through righteousness, faith, love and gentleness. It is our responsibility to share what we have as we are blessed with such abundance. Let us be open to see need in God's world, for it is God, not riches that makes us wealthy. Such a treasure!!God is our treasure on earth and in heaven. Thanks be to God!
