This morning was our Palm Sunday service. Thanks to the children who carried and waved the palms. The entrance gospel reading was Luke 19: 28-40. Jeanne brought a basket full of rocks to illustrate this reading. Can rocks talk? Can they sing? Could they tell us stories about Jesus? When the religious leaders told Jesus to quiet the praising crowd, Jesus replied that the people could not be quiet, for if they did, the rocks would begin to cry out ! If the rocks could talk I shared some stories like David and the the giant, Elijah building an altar, Solomon building a temple, and the man who built his house on a rock. Rocks MAY have lots of stories to tell us but we won't let them! As long as WE praise our King and Saviour, the rocks will not cry out. How do we praise Him? ..... by our words .... through song, prayer, sharing His story AND through our actions...... reading the Bible, in our daily living of loving our neighbour and when we respond to God's call. Let us always praise our God!
Thank you to all the readers of the passion gospel. Thank you to the server and chalice bearer and organist..
See you at the Maundy Thursday services.
