Today was our monthly Children's Service. The children are the greeters, readers and collection plates presenters. The sermon is "child-friendly" and the children participate in it.The sermon today was about Thomas and his doubts. The children were quite excited when I did an experiment with a plastic ziplock baggie filled with water. We talked about what we beleive and what we doubt. I believed I could run a pencil through the bag of water and to prove it, I did it over Jessie's head! We talked about doubts, wonderings and questions. When we experience doubts, we need to take encouragemant from Thomas. He didn't stay in his doubt but allowed Jesus to bring him to belief.. Thomas wanted Jesus' physical presence but God wants to be present with us at all times , He is with us now in the form of the Holy Spirit. We thank the children/youth - Gavin, Jessie, Laurena and Kara for their assistance today. We were happy to welcome baby Jonathan, Yvonne and Kim. Our children are not the future of the church, they ARE a vital part of our faith family now. "Children's Sunday" is the second Sunday of each month. Join us.
