The theme for this Sunday was " Encounters With Jesus".
What an encounter Saul had!! Such a conversion that changed his life. How did YOU meet Jesus? Was it by some dramatic moment ? through time? since you were introduced as a little child? through another Christian? Is there just one way to encounter Jesus? No. There are as many ways as there are people! Everyone is called to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
The hymn, "Amazing Grace" was created by John Newton after he encountered Jesus. Such a conversion! What changes have come into your life since YOU encountered Jesus?
How do people reacted or respond to you since you became a believer? Saul certainly had some challenges as people really distrusted him. What has been your experience?
While out fishing, Peter encounters Jesus. Peter may have needed special encouragement after his denial of Jesus so Jesus led him through an experience that would remove this cloud of denial. Three times Peter denied Jesus. Three times Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him. Then Jesus told him to "feed My sheep".
It is one thing to say you love Jesus, but the REAL test is willingness to serve Him. How do you feed His sheep? How do you care for others? How do you live your life in Jesus' love? Are you a light to the world in His name?
Through encounters with the Risen Christ: Saul was changed. Peter was changed. Many are changed. Were you? Each of us can always start over............ is there something in your life that you have felt badly about? is there something you want to change?
What is God calling you to do.... what loving action is He asking you to do to show your love and care for others? He is asking you today......"Do you love ME? Do you love Me? Do you love Me?.......................... then feed my sheep and follow Me.
Thank you to the greeter, readers Val, Arline, collection presenter, Sage and Sydney for lighting the candles and the children for participating in their story time.
